About the Artist

Hi! I'm Megan, owner and creative brain behind Irodama!

I live in Waynesboro, Virginia, which is roughly in Central Virginia and at the edge of the Shenandoah Valley. Afton Mountain is nearly in my back yard and the South River runs through my town.

My space is shared with my father and three cats ranging in ages from 10 to 8 and an equally wide range of personalities!

In addition to chainmaille, I also knit, crochet, and do cross-stitch for hand crafts. I also occasionally dabble in web site design (as per this site) and in pixel art.

What is Irodama?

To be succinct, Irodama is Japanese for 'colored bead'. I'm a bit of a Japanophile and wanted something unique for my site. So I played around various Japanese-language dictionary sites until I found a word that jumped out at me!

Looking Back

Just for kicks, I decided to put up pictures of some of my table setups from various conventions I've done! I would have Otakon 2013 in here, but my camera that year was the victim of an exploded soda so I lost anything I took that year. *sadface*
